Positano is the gem of the Divine Coast; Pompeii the most famous archaeological site in the world.
This tour will allow you to not just taste a flavour of ancient Rome but really feel the vibes of this extravagant culture. During this exciting day-long plunge into nature, history and archaeology you will be given transfer from Rome to Positano in a comfortable minivan.
We will move to Amalfi Coast arriving to Positano. The village is not only fashion, sea and fun but is also rich in historical monuments like the ancient guard towers, which were used to protect the city from invasions. One the most important is the “Tower of the Shore”, now converted in a private residence. Positano also has some beautiful XVIII century villas, some of which have been converted into beautiful hotels.
Then we’ll make a quick lunch stop in a top-notch typical Italian restaurant.
After lunch trasfer to the archaeological site of Pompeii.
We’ll have a 3 hours tour during which we’ll see in detail the intense richness with important buildings and fascinating frescoes, western part of the town. That is the part with most of the important public buildings, luxurious urban villas and shops.
We’ll see the following locations on our way: the Marina Gate, the Basilica (court house), the Forum (main square), the Forum baths, the Lupanar (brothel), the bakery, the house of Faun, the Termopolium Capuano, the house of Tragic Poet as well as the famous plaster casts.
In the evening you’ll be given safe and comfortable transfer back to where you stay in Rome.
