Piazza Torquato Tasso, Sorrento, Metropolitan City of Naples, Italy

Discover the beauty and richness of a pearl set in the Gulf of Naples

"No poetry could overshadow the beauty of a clear summer evening in Sorrento. God reveals himself in his most sensitive attribute, that of his infinite goodness". (Francesco Mastriani)

Sorrento is relaxing and quiet town, it is an attraction for tourists since the XVIII century.
Come to discover a fantastic walking tour of the city with a local Professional Guide.

Set on a large tufa terrace overlooking the sea, Sorrento is an ancient place of residence of international fame that extends from Castellammare to Punta Campanella, as a watershed between the Gulf of Naples and Salerno.

Sorrento is a quiet resort, enjoyable in every season thanks to its mild climate. The origin of the name probably derives from the Greek verb “surreo”, which means flow together, a reference to the topographic feature of the town, surrounded by valleys carved out of tufa due to the erosive action of rain water that flows into the sea, but the legend attributes to a reference to the myth of the sirens who tried to charm sailors including Ulysses.

The tourist fame of these places was born in XVIII century, but its history has very ancient roots that begin in prehistory.

Today it has become a destination for tourists coming from all over the world for her history, the sun, the culinary traditions such as the famous ice-creams and the limoncello liqueur, traditional old and modern shops selling ceramics, lace and inlay items produced here.
