The meeting point is at Naples Central Station outside the STARHOTEL TERMINUS (Piazza Garibaldi, 91) Just show at the meeting place of your choice at the indicated time. You will recognize your driver easily since he will hold a sign with “ASKOS TOURS” written on it.

Absolutely amazing! Truly wish my words could explain how brilliant this day was. We had Francesco as our driver from Napoli to Pompeii, Herculaneum and back to Napoli. He was so lovely, prompt, professional, and made sure our drive was very comfortable. Our tour guide for Pompeii and Herculaneum was Vince. Vince was INCREDIBLE!!! He was so knowledgeable across both sites, sharing so much information about the history of the land, architecture, people, language, culture and ancient customs. As well as knowledgeable, he was so approachable and made us all feel very comfortable to ask any questions to get as much out of the experience as we could. Furthermore, he had such a good sense of humour! We were completely entertained the entire time between his really interesting facts and his brilliant humour. By far, one of the best tours we have ever done! Can not recommend this highly enough!

Pompeii/Herculaneum June 9, 2022
With so many choices of tours, we were fortunate to select Askos for our first visit to Pompeii and Herculaneum. A small group of friendly fellow travelers and easy transportation from Naples by minivan were welcome luxuries. Our drivers were prompt and accommodating, which meant a lot on a stormy day when other visitors were left stranded and soaked. Our archeologist guide Michele was a treasure – deeply knowledgeable, he had a great script that he was delighted to expand when we asked questions. His story-telling brought both spaces to life as if by magic. We could almost see the people walking the streets, working in their homes and shops before the great catastrophe. And all the while there was present-day Vesuvius rising above us, still active, clearly visible from both sites. Chilling.

Fabulous tour
We had such a great time! Our driver, Francesco was so punctual and great about keeping the van cool. Antonio Mosca, our archeological guide, was superb. Antonio is incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, responsive to our questions, and fun. He engaged everyone in the group, and his excitement and passion about the sites was effusive and contagious. Anytime someone had a question, he took the time to not only answer the question, but also tie it right back to what we were seeing. He made everyone feel so included. We really appreciated how he compared the 2 sites, and we learned an incredible amount of history and fascinating information. Antonio rocks! Thank you!

Don't think twice - a unique experience tailored to your interests
I wish I could give more than 5 stars – it really was amazing! First of all Askos was already in touch at least a week before the tour with information where to meet the driver, and a number to reach out to them – very reassuring in a busy city like Naples! The driver Francesco was standing in front of the Hotel well ahead of time, was very nice and kind and amazingly managed to bring us to wherever we had to be (first in Pompeji, then Herculaneum) well ahead of time, told us about the city on the drive and made sure we were handed over to the correct people – he also was there for pick up taking care nobody was left behind and that all of us made their connections. I was long thinking about whether to take the train-tour or the car-tour (only difference seems to be that you get shuttled to and from the excavation sites and between them by an expert rather then finding the way yourself by train (being helped between the sites, as far as I understood), and for me the car was the right decision, since it gave us a little break between the two sites to enjoy the area and have a great lunch at Pompeji. And if I was really pleasantly surprised by Francesco and the entire planning, our guide Antonio really blew my mind: It is always said a good guide can bring history to life, but he really really did! He told us about how the rich and the poor lived in Pompeji, what their last seconds must have been, how the eruption of the volcano affected not only the people there, but basically a huge region and also of course got politcial, … and pointed out the many many differences of both sites – although there where what felt like a million people and it was incredibly hot, I am so glad I visited both locations, each of them being impressive in their own right. Speaking about heat and people: Antonio adapted his tour to where most of the people where, allowing us to see some details which stayed maybe hidden from individualistic visitors, and he took good care that we found shady spots. He knew so much about the sites and the life some thousand years ago as well as now that he could provide a very comprehensive picture and answer all questions we had. As he said, one could easily spend a lot more time in both places, but I still feel like I got the essence of the cities across demographic groups and also what life must have been like when both cities were flourishing and perishing.

Driver-Fluvio; very punctual, he drove our group to an amazing restaurant for lunch between seeing Pompeii & Herculaneum.
Alessandra was our archeologists tour guide. She did a great job of explaining the sites.
It is VERY HOT. Take ALOT of water, a hat and wear breathable clothing. Herculaneum was more interesting in many ways. Pompeii was to overwhelming and to busy. Pompeii in and of itself is get there early and spend all day if you want to see it all. If you want the condensed version of Pompeii this is perfect.

Our guide, Antonio Mosca was excellent. Passionate, knowledgeable, friendly… all in all one of the best guides I’ve ever had. The whole trip was perfectly organized. The driver was excellent, the staff waiting at the various locations were friendly and always available. In short, if you’re interested in Pompeii/Heracleum, history and archeology, you’re best bet is to go with Antonio and Askos

Francesco + Paolo = a wonderful experience
We had Francesco as a driver and Paolo (“the Rock”) as a guide. Both of them were truly unbelievable. Francesco is attentive and kind always asking whether everything is OK and he would do anything to ensure we are enjoying the tour. Paolo is such a great professional. During the stories about the excavation, he perfectly followed man’s mind. He was the most knowledgeable guide I´ve ever had. What I also really appreciated was his patience and approach to children. Even though it was really hot that day (41 C), the children paid attention and he very nicely keeped them focused by giving them questions and praise. We were lucky for both of those guys. Absolutely recommend.
